EBP Trailblazer Coin awarded to Vana Hutter and Stijn Ruiter for pioneering role in research contributing to evidence-based policing

Worldwide, only 100 of these coins are awarded to individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to the development and application of a scientific basis for police practice. The coins are an initiative of the Canadian Society of Evidence-Based Policing and are also distributed through other societies, including that of the Netherlands.

The recognition for Vana Hutter and Stijn Ruiter stems from their leading role in EBP research, in which they actively seek collaboration with police professionals. The award ceremony took place during the conference “Evidence-Based Policing in Practice”, jointly organized by NSCR and the Society of Evidence-Based Policing Netherlands. Every year, the conference brings together professionals from science, policy and practice to discuss scientific research on and with police practice. Hutter and Ruiter represented NSCR on the conference organizing committee.
