Former NSCR Director Gerben Bruinsma passed away

It is with sadness that we say goodbye to our former director Prof. Gerben Bruinsma. He passed away on 17 May 2022. Gerben led the NSCR from 1999 to 2014 and remained connected as a research fellow until the end of 2021. He has meant a lot for criminology in the Netherlands and far beyond. His vision and leadership not only set the course for our institute, but also ensured a successful relaunch, putting the NSCR on the international map as a top research institute. We wish Ellen, his daughters and other family a lot of strength.
